Reefline is a free block theme for dive shops, dive centers and independent instructors. This guide takes you from installing it to a finished homepage.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.6 or later, running PHP 7.4 or later.
- WooCommerce (free) if you want to sell courses, trips, gift cards or gear. Everything else works without it.
Install Reefline
Reefline is in review at WordPress.org. Until it’s listed there, download it from us.
- Download Reefline 1.0.1 (a .zip file). Keep it zipped.
- In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes and click Add New Theme.
- Click Upload Theme, choose the zip file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate.
Set up your homepage
- Go to Pages > Add New Page and give the page a title, such as Home.
- In the settings panel on the right, open the Page tab, click the template name and choose Dive shop landing page.
- Click Publish.
- Go to Settings > Reading. Under Your homepage displays, choose A static page, pick your new page as the homepage and click Save Changes.
Edit your content
The homepage sections (hero, local conditions, courses, start dates, boat trips, dive sites, instructors, rentals and servicing, dive travel, FAQ and booking) live in the Dive shop landing page template. To change them, go to Appearance > Editor > Templates, open Dive shop landing page and click any text or photo.
- Start dates: edit the table in the Upcoming start dates section like any other table.
- Book buttons: Reefline doesn’t take bookings itself. Select a button and link it to your booking plugin or booking service.
- Photos: replace the example photos with your own, and give each one alt text that describes it.
Change the colors
Reefline comes with three color styles: Light (shown as Default in the editor), Night Dive and Cold Water. Go to Appearance > Editor > Styles and pick one. All three meet WCAG 2 AA color contrast.
Add more pages
Every homepage section is also a pattern you can add to any page. In the editor, click the + button, open Patterns and choose from the Reefline sections. For a page with full-width sections and no page title, choose the Full-width page (no title) template.
Sell with WooCommerce
Go to Plugins > Add New Plugin, search for WooCommerce, then install and activate it. Reefline styles the shop, product, cart, checkout and account pages to match the rest of your site. There’s nothing to switch on.
Want more layouts?
Reefline Pro adds course, trip, team and store pages plus three starter homepages. Your settings and edits stay put when you add it.
